The Duke of Sussex took a private jet flight to his home in Santa Barbara from Aspen Colorado after a polo match on Thursday. Prince Harry boarded his millionaire friend’s private jet only months after lecturing about the dangers of climate change. The Duke of Sussex has previously been criticised for taking four private jet flights in 11 days.
One of these private jet flights included a trip to a climate change summit in Sicily.
The 20-seater jet which is believed to belong to his friend Marc Ganzi, left Colorado and flew 750 miles to California.
The Duke had been playing in the Sentebale ISPS Handa Polo Cup tournament to raise money for his charity, Sentebale.
The two-hour flight is estimated to have emitted as much as ten tonnes of CO2.
According to The Sun, the Gulfstream jet used by Prince Harry is understood to belong to Marc Ganzi, founder and Chief Executive Officer of Global Tower Partners.
When the Duke landed in Santa Babara he was rushed into the car and driven back to his mansion in Montecito with Meghan and their two children.
The private jet flight comes just three months after Prince Harry said climate change was one of “the most pressing issues we are facing”.
Speaking to Oprah Winfrey on Apple TV, the Duke of Sussex said: “With kids growing up in today’s world, pretty depressing, right.
“Depending on where you live, your home country is either on fire, it’s either underwater, houses or forests are being flattened.”
Referring to the latest private jet flight taken by the prince royal author Tom Quinn said: “This appears to be enormously hypocritical, given all his talk about climate change.
“Harry seems to see himself as someone who guides the rest of the world and that his own behaviour isn’t relevant.
“It is a huge blind spot.”
