Prince Harry resigns timeline: The Queen DID KNOW about Harry’s plans timeline shows

Meghan, Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry sensationally announced on Wednesday night they would be taking a “step back” from their positions as senior members of the Royal Family. The Instagram post from their SussexRoyal account caused shockwaves around the world and none more so than in the Royal Family itself.

Multiple sources have said the senior-most royals including Prince William, Prince Charles and the Queen were not aware of the Instagram post happening.

In fact, one source said Prince Charles and Prince William were only made aware of the post 10 minutes before it was due to go live.

They were not consulted on its contents, rather just made aware of its existence.

One source told The Sun the decision left Princes Charles and William “incandescent with rage” mostly due to the manner in which they found out.

On Wednesday night a statement from the Palace read: “Discussions with The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are at an early stage.

“We understand their desire to take a different approach, but these are complicated issues that will take time to work through.”

However overnight it seems this time may have been hurried along by senior royals.

The Queen, Prince Charles and the Duke of Cambridge have ordered their teams to find a “workable solution” over the future role of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex within the Royal Family.

A Buckingham Palace Source said the senior royals have asked aides to work “at pace” with the Government and The Sussex Household and an outcome was expected to take “days, not weeks”.

Despite claims that The Firm was “blindsided” by the post, it appears the family were, in fact, aware of the proposal to leave the Royal Family from the Duke and Duchess, according to one timeline of events.

According to The Standard Prince Harry first contacted Prince Charles before Christmas asking for him and Meghan to have more time in Canada and the United States.

However, Harry was told he needed “to come up with a thought-out plan”.

The Standard then reports Harry sent a draft proposal of plans for Meghan, Archie and himself to Charles early in the new year.

However again his father told him more time was needed in order to iron out issues such as funding.

Harry then requested a meeting with the Queen when he and his family returned from their Christmas break.

He was told the Queen would be happy to see him, however, discussions of his future were not to be had until she had talked it through with Charles.

The meeting was blocked by courtiers, but the Queen reportedly stated Harry should not make any future plans public.

Harry’s father and brother, Prince Charles and Prince William, were sent a copy of Harry and Meghan’s statement “10 minutes” before it was released, without any further consultation.

Senior courtiers have warned: “Harry and Meghan will be punished for this”.

Now the monarch has demanded the four royal households find a workable solution within days, not weeks.

If solutions cannot be found, it raises the prospect of Harry and Meghan leaving the Royal Family completely and dropping their HRH titles.

The Queen, the Prince of Wales and the Duke of Cambridge have asked their senior aides to work “at pace” with governments – at home and abroad – and The Sussex Household.

Another indication which may point to the Queen already knowing of Meghan and Harry’s plans came during her annual Christmas speech.

On the Queen’s desk at Windsor Castle, there were pictures of several senior members of the Royal Family.

Noticeably absent however were Meghan and Harry, perhaps an indication of their future separation from the senior fold.
