Harry is said to be preparing to fly back to the UK for the funeral of his grandfather, Prince Philip. The Duke of Sussex, who is expected to make the trip solo as wife Meghan Markle is heavily pregnant, will touch down in Britain for the first time since the couple’s tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey. It also comes after the two of them formally broke away from the Royal Family in their bid to lead “financially independent” lives.

Their deals with Netflix and Spotify are reportedly worth £110million ‒ but the Duke, in particular, may have to be careful to keep the streaming giants happy.

Pod Save The Queen is hosted by Ann Gripper and features Daily Mirror royal editor Russell Myers.

In this week’s podcast, Ms Gripper drew attention to the news that Netflix will be streaming a documentary about Harry’s Invictus Games.

She said: “To a certain extent it’s an absolute no-brainer because it’s a great subject, with easy access and it’s Harry’s project: The Invictus Games.”

Mr Myers replied: “Yeah, it’s going to be great.

“You can imagine a big Netflix production in line with The Invictus Games that Harry had founded and taken from strength to strength.

“It’s undoubtedly going to follow some really amazing stories with its competitors ‒ some of whom I was lucky enough to meet in Sydney at the last Invictus Games in 2018.”

But Mr Myers did have a warning for the 36-year-old Duke and suggested that Netflix may potentially get frustrated, given the similarity in the content he’s currently working on.

He continued: “Like you say, it’s a no-brainer.

“I know this criticism has been labelled at Harry and Meghan, well certainly Harry. What else is he going to speak about?

“After you’re speaking about your mother and the trauma you’ve had since her death, you’ve spoken about mental health on so many levels.

“Now you’re doing stuff for the Invictus Games. What will come afterwards?

“And that will be a very interesting question. So, later on in the year and in proceeding years, what will happen?

“I don’t necessarily buy this but I think some people have said Harry might be seen as a one-trick pony.

“It will be very interesting to see how much Netflix back him because they’re obviously paying both of them a lot of money.”

On Wednesday Harry and Meghan revealed that their first feature will be called “Heart Of Invictus” and will be produced by their Archewell Productions company.

The documentary-series will follow competitors as they prepare to take part in the 2022 games.

It  will be directed by Orlando von Einsiedel and produced by Joanna Natasegara.

The pair previously worked together on Oscar-winning short The White Helmets.

Harry will serve as executive producer as well as appearing on screen.

He said: “Since the very first Invictus Games back in 2014, we knew that each competitor would contribute in their own exceptional way to a mosaic of resilience, determination and resolve.

“This series will give communities around the world a window into the moving and uplifting stories of these competitors on their path to the Netherlands next year.

“As Archewell Productions’ first series with Netflix, in partnership with the Invictus Games Foundation, I couldn’t be more excited for the journey ahead or prouder of the Invictus community for continuously inspiring global healing, human potential and continued service.”

The Invictus Games was set up in 2014 to help and support seriously injured military personnel from around the world.

It allows veterans who have suffered life-changing injuries or illnesses to compete in various sporting events.
