While some have branded it a money-making exercise and have claimed the Duke of Sussex is using the memoir as a mouthpiece for his wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex’s, side of the story, the explosive memoir is likely to answer, or at least shine some light on a number of long-standing questions about Prince Harry and the wider Royal Family. The Duke of Sussex said in a statement from the publisher: “I’m writing this not as the prince I was born but as the man I have become.
“I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to share what I’ve learned over the course of my life so far and excited for people to read a firsthand account of my life that’s accurate and wholly truthful.”
Despite saying it will be a firsthand account, the book will reportedly not be written by Prince Harry but will be ghostwritten by American Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist JR Moehringer.
The royals have reportedly been rocked by the announcement, which was only made to them hours before the public announcement went ahead.
A source said Prince William and Prince Charles are “particularly concerned about what Harry will reveal” after Harry’s recent interviews about his family, which were “bad enough.”
Who does Harry blame for Princess Diana’s death?
Prince Harry has had no qualms with being vocal about the death of his mother Princess Diana, who died in a car crash in Paris in 1997, and the impact it has had on his life.
At the time of her death, the Princess was being chased by the paparazzi, while also being driven by a drunk driver.
Royal expert and author Angela Levin, who wrote Harry: Biography of a Prince, said on Twitter this week: “I’ve been told by a well-informed source that Harry’s memoir will focus heavily on the death of his mother Princess Diana, and who he blames.
“It was a terrible tragedy, but sad the man can’t move on.”
Which royal made the comments about Archie?
In the bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey earlier this year, Meghan and Harry claimed a member of the Royal Family – neither the Queen or Prince Philip – made comments about the colour of their then-unborn son Archie’s skin.
The claims were some of the most controversial made in the interview, prompting Buckingham Palace to issue a statement.
The book could answer what many have been wanting to find out after the couple were criticised for not letting the public know who made the comment.

Has he completely cut off his father?
The relationship between Prince Charles and his youngest son has been turned on its head by the couple’s departure from frontline royal life and the subsequent war of words that has gone on between them.
The last comments Prince Harry made about his father blamed him for his suffering.
He said: “My father used to say to me when I was younger, he used to say to both William and I, ‘Well it was like that for me so it’s going to be like that for you’.
“That doesn’t make sense.
“Just because you suffered doesn’t mean that your kids have to suffer, in fact quite the opposite.
“If you suffered, do everything you can to make sure that whatever negative experiences you had, that you can make it right for your kids.”
One royal insider said: “Sure, Charles can certainly be accused of being somewhat old school in his emotions at times, but he loves both his sons dearly and has done the very best for them throughout their lives.
“It would be correct to say he is concerned over Harry’s chosen path and does feel the constant attacks on his parenting style and other hurtful comments of members of the family are completely unjust.
“He would never want to push Harry further away than he already is doing already but it’s a difficult situation.”
