Prince Harry and Meghan hosted one of the Duke’s closest friends while they were still guests at producer Tyler Perry’s home in Los Angeles, according to a source. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex reportedly welcomed into their temporary home Guy Pelly, who has been part of Harry’s close circle for decades.
With him there were also his wife Elizabeth Wilson and three-year-old daughter Willow, the source added.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, the insider claimed: “They were kindly invited by Harry and Meghan.
“Despite what’s been said about Harry losing touch with his old friends, he was keen to see Guy.”
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex lived at Mr Perry’s £14million home between late March and early July, when they moved into their new home in Montecito, Santa Barbara.
Mr Pelly, who like Harry has married a US citizen, is also very close to Prince William.
In 2011, ahead of the Duke of Cambridge’s wedding with Kate, Mr Pelly was deemed one of the organisers of the stag night.
Among other guests at the bachelor’s party, there were also Thomas van Straubenzee, Ed and Hugh van Cutsem, and Tom “Skippy” Inskip.
Mr Pelly was also one of the godparents chosen by Kate and William ahead of the christening of Prince Louis.
Mr Inskip was another famous member of Harry’s close circle of friends.
However, unlike Mr Pelly, he has reportedly fallen out with the Duke of Sussex for sharing doubts over his relationship with Meghan.
According to Carolyn Durand and Omid Scobie’s book Finding Freedom, Mr Inskip had advised Harry to “be careful” and slow down the pace of his relationship with Meghan.
The book read: “A month after his own wedding, Skippy sat down with his childhood friend to voice his concern: Harry and Meghan were moving too quickly.
“He was ‘pretty blunt’ with Harry about whether he was ‘rushing into things’, according to a source.
“Skippy, who like the majority of Harry’s close friends didn’t know Meghan well, advised Harry to ‘be careful’.
“Skippy advised they live together before ‘doing anything more serious’.
“He said his words came from a good place, but Harry didn’t totally see it that way.
“It felt like his friend was implying that Meghan couldn’t be trusted and had ulterior motives.
“‘It really hurt him that someone he was so close to would not trust his judgement’, the source said.”
The Duke of Sussex, the authors added, decided not to invite the childhood friend to his evening wedding bash at Frogmore House.
Mr Scobie and Ms Durand claimed the childhood friend and Eton pal commented the presence of celebrities such as George and Amal Clooney at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s wedding saying: “Meghan had changed Harry too much.
“We have lost him.”
