Prince Harry ‘decreases workload’ to be ‘by Meghan’s side’ as due date approaches
Meghan, 37, and Harry, 34, have just weeks to go until their first child is due to arrive. The Duchess of Sussex is “feeling somewhat nervous” ahead of the birth, according to royal reporter Omid Scobie. The royal expert added that Harry has cut down on work to be “by her side”.
He told Good Morning America: “Sources close to Meghan say that like any new mum to be, she’s feeling somewhat nervous as the due date approaches, but Harry is there by her side.
“He’s decreased a lot of his work to be there for his wife.”
Former actress Meghan’s last engagement was earlier this month but she has been continuing private meetings at the palace into the last weeks of her pregnancy.
Meghan and Harry plan to move to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor before their tot arrives.
The Grade II-listed 10-bedroom property is currently undergoing multimillion pound renovations which reportedly include a yoga studio and gender neutral nursery.
But building work is running behind schedule due to the couple’s demands, according to an insider.
The source told The Sun: “It’s been all hands to the pump. The builders have worked all week whatever the weather. But they keep making changes, particularly on the layout.
“The word is they’ve been quite demanding, which is understandable as what homeowner doesn’t want their house to be perfect?
“Given the scale of the project, a three or four-week delay isn’t too bad. The couple are pleased with how it’s all going.”
The Sussexes’ move from Kensington Palace has sparked endless rumours of a rift with Prince William and Kate.
A friend of Meghan and Harry’s said to US magazine People: “I presume it must be nice to get out and away.
“Without neighbors who are all either family or staff, they will now have their own thing.”
Meghan is due to give birth in April or early May but the exact date is not known.
