Prince Harry blasted for not marking Queen’s birthday after book attack
‘It’s rude!’ Harry blasted for not marking Queen’s birthday
Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle failed to wish Queen Camilla happy birthday on Monday in a fresh snub, making royal commentators brand the move as “rude” after the Duke’s controversial memoir branded her as “dangerous” and a “villain”.
The Sussexes did not make any mention of Camilla’s birthday, which marked her first birthday as Queen since assuming the role in September 2022.
Speaking to GB News host Dan Wootton, the Spectator’s Kara Kennedy said the Sussexes’ silence is particularly noted as the Firm “always goes out of their way” to honour birthdays.
She said: “I do think it’s rude. I do think it’s particularly rude because the Royal Family always goes out of their way to celebrate not only Meghan and Harry’s birthday, but also the kids’.
“I’m definitely not surprised about this.”

While the couple no longer maintain an official social media account, they do occasionally make public statements through an official representative.
Camilla received birthday wishes from the public on social media, as well as from the Royal Family’s main accounts on Instagram and Twitter.

The official Instagram of the Royal Family posted three pictures of the Queen with the caption: “Wishing Her Majesty The Queen a very Happy Birthday today!”
Among those who extended their birthday greetings were Prince William and Kate, Princess of Wales, who also took to social media to wish her “a very happy birthday.”
Meghan and Harry chose not to publicly acknowledge Camilla’s birthday approximately a month after the Royal Family’s decision not to publicly wish Princess Lilibet a happy birthday in June.
Expert in transatlantic affairs Lee Cohen added that the snub from the Sussexes may have affected their reputation across the pond as well.
He said on GB News: “People on this side of the Atlantic don’t like dismissing and criticising one’s family any more than on your side of the Atlantic.
“The British public are known for their deep rooted affinity for tradition and its beloved monarchy and we Americans find the Sussexes appalling behaviour just as repellant as our British cousins.”
