The Duke of Sussex welcomed his second child with Meghan Markle last Friday. She was named after the Queen’s family nickname and also Harry’s mother Princess Diana, who died in a car crash in 1997.

But amid an ongoing feud between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and the Royal Family, Prince Harry has seemingly attempted to heal the rift.

It is believed Harry sent a text message to his sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, cementing her role as a bridge between him and his brother, Prince William, the Mail on Sunday reported.

The possible reaching out comes amid an ongoing battle over the Duke and Duchess of Sussex naming their daughter, Lilibet.

The name Lilibet harks back to the Queen’s childhood when she could not pronounce her own name.

The only person who used the name in recent times was Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, who passed away in April.

At the funeral of Prince Philip in April, the Duchess of Cambridge appeared to act as a peacemaker between Harry and William.

The funeral marked the first time the royal siblings met face-to-face since March last year when Harry stepped down as a senior member of the Firm.

Harry and his brother were spotted on camera talking to each other following the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral at Windsor Castle.

Brian Hoey, who has written a biography of Prince William, said Kate is the “rock the monarchy” will depend on.

He told The Sun in April: “They say cometh the hour, cometh the man. But in the Royal Family’s case, it’s a woman.

“Thank God for Kate — she is the rock the monarchy will depend on.

“On Saturday, she behaved absolutely impeccably.”

Royal expert Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty Magazine, added: “After the things that Meghan said to Oprah about the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate would have been quite entitled to also avoid Harry.

“She has just got beautiful manners — taught by her mum Carole — and when she sees an awkward situation, she steps in.

“That’s why she talked to Harry.”

Rumours of a rift between Harry and William have persisted for years, with the younger sibling hinting at the feud in a TV interview in 2019.

Tensions began when William offered Harry advice on taking things slow with Meghan, something the younger son bristled at.

And the situation escalated when Harry and Meghan stepped down as senior members of the Royal Family without any warning last year.

Their relationship deteriorated significantly following Meghan and Harry’s explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey last month.

The couple made several shocking allegations against the Royal Family including claiming there were conversations about Archie’s skin colour.

Since then, Harry has also taken part in a podcast and a documentary series where he has hit out at the Royal Family.

Last month, the Duke of Sussex appeared on the Armchair Expert podcast where he said he does not want to pass on pain from his own experience to his son Archie and future daughter.

In a new documentary series, called ‘The Me You Can’t See’, Harry also opened up about his experiences with mental health, claiming his suffering goes back to the “same people, the same business model and the same industry”.
