Prince Harry at High Court hours after King Charles’s historic speech

Prince Harry arrives at the High Court in London

Prince Harry has been pictured at the Royal Courts of Justice in central London for the latest day in the hearing brought against Associated Newspapers Limited (ANL) for unlawful information gathering, which the publisher denies. This comes on the same day that his father King Charles made a historic speech adressing the Bundestag in Germany on his first state visit as monarch.

The Duke of Sussex is one of a number of high-profile figures bringing the case against ANL, with Harry giving a witness statement in which he claimed journalists using methods such as phone hacking were “criminals”.

He also lashed out at the Royal Family for allegedly withholding information from him about the extent of the media’s activities.

Earlier today the King, whom Harry has not seen since his arrival in the UK at the beginning of the week, was in Berlin making an address to the German Parliament, becoming the first British monarch to do so.

Speaking in both German and English the King thanked the German people for their warm wishes after the death of the Queen and highlighted the bond between the two countries.

He spoke of his pride at being in Berlin to “renew the special bond of friendship between our two countries” and said the connection between the UK and Germany “meant so much to my beloved mother”.

The King also acknowledged the impact of the war in Ukraine and Germany’s tremendous efforts to help with the humanitarian fallout of the conflict.

He said: “Countless lives have been destroyed; freedom and human dignity have been trampled in the most brutal way. The security of Europe has been threatened, together with our democratic values.
