Prince William and Prince Harry love “making jokes about the other brother suffering” through the struggles of parenthood, royal commentator Kaitlin Menza claimed. The Duke of Cambridge last week welcomed his younger brother and wife Meghan Markle to the “sleep deprivation society” after the couple welcomed their child Archie. But Ms Menza noted to joke about Harry suffering from lack of sleep fell into a pattern of the brothers “giving each other a hard time” with scathing jibes. 

Speaking on her podcast Royally Obsessed, the royal expert said: “I remember when Princess Charlotte was born and Harry was at an event right after the birth and they asked him ‘oh, are you excited for the niece?’

“He made some joke about ‘oh, I’m so glad William has a girl because girls are so much more trouble,’ or ‘I’m so excited to watch my brother suffer.’

“They love making jokes about the other brother suffering. They just love giving each other a hard time. It’s their public brother-ribbing but it’s always such corny jokes.”

Prince Harry did indeed say he could not wait to see his brother “suffer more with the arrival of the new baby” after the birth of Princess Charlotte in 2015.

In the past however the teasing relationship allegedly pushed Prince William to take drastic decisions after the Duke of Cambridge grew “sick” of Prince Harry’s jokes about him “going bald.”

Express.co.uk last year reported William forked out £180 after consulting with Richard Ward, the Duchess of Cambridge’s hairdresser, before having his hair cut off completely.

A source close to the hairdressers said: “Wills sought Richard’s advice, but it was Joey who was the one to visit the Palace and give him his new buzz cut.

“The Prince got sick of being teased by Harry about going bald and this seemed like a practical solution — and one that should stop all the digs too.”

Prince Harry has previously mocked his older brother for his noticeable hair loss.

He once remarked: “I think he definitely is brainier than I am, but we established that at school, along with his baldness.”

The remarks Prince William made following the birth of nephew Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor suggests the brothers have put claims of a rift between then behind.

Insiders have suggested a split between the Duke of Cambridge and the Duke of Sussex originated over William questioning Harry’s relationship with Meghan Markle.

But a meeting organised by Kate, Duchess of Cambridge over Easter is believed to have bridged the divide. 

According to the Daily Mirror, the advice that Kate gave the two brothers led to Meghan and Harry inviting the Cambridges for tea after Easter service at Windsor. 

William and Kate reportedly spent 30 minutes talking and having tea with Harry and Meghan as they all looked to solve any problems between the two couples.

Key to Kate helping the two brothers was her “strong friendship” with Harry.
