King Charles refuses to contemplate stripping Prince Harry and Meghan Markle of their royal titles, sources have said.

Calls to remove the Duke and Duchess of Sussex of their honorary titles were first made when Harry and Meghan stepped back from their roles as senior, working royals.

An insider, who is reported to know King Charles well, told MailOnline the monarch is not a “punitive” man and would never want to humiliate the couple.

Sources told the publication taking away Harry and Meghan’s titles is not on the table, although Buckingham Palace is said to be mulling all options in response to the furore over the naming of two alleged royal racists in a Dutch translation of Omid Scobie’s book, Endgame.

Queen Elizabeth II stripped the Duke and Duchess of their HRH titles in the immediate aftermath of their exit from their royal duties.
