Prince Harry and Meghan Markle gearing up for ‘Part Two’ with a ‘total reboot’

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle “are all about the future” as the royal couple ready themselves for Part Two of their American future after stepping down from royal duties in January 2020.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped out on their own to become financially independent leading to them signing a five-year, £76 million ($100 million) contract with Netflix in September 2020 to produce documentaries, docuseries, feature films, scripted shows and children’s programming but have only released this docuseries so far.

But after ridicule from South Park and Family Park, Harry and Meghan are looking to try again, according to a source close to the couple.

The source told People: “What we’re seeing — and will see more of I think — is Heghan 2.0. Part Deux. They know of their supposed failures and how it’s viewed, but they have almost gone more tech than Hollywood. Fail big and all that.

“They have swapped in and out all sorts of projects and people and are embarking on a total system reboot.

“They have a constitutional inability to look in the rearview — why should they? They are all about the future.”

Despite some successes, the couple has faced a few bumps along the way. They parted ways with Spotify after just one season of Archetypes.

Their releases, Heart of Invictus and Live to Lead, received a muted response, while an animated series called Pearl was scrapped early in development.

However, the couple remain a strong team, with a source telling PEOPLE that they appear “so in love.”

Just last week, the couple were all smiles during a surprise appearance at the Canucks vs. San Jose Sharks game at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Canada.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, parents to son Prince Archie, 4, and daughter Princess Lilibet, 2, have emphasised that moving away from the UK was necessary for their mental well-being. A royal insider previously told People that there “there wasn’t necessarily a five-year plan.”

According to the Royal insider, Royal life “wasn’t a world they wanted for their family,” and their decisions reflect this. “Everything else flows from that, for whatever time period it takes.”

Some reckon the hype around the royals stepping into the world of entertainment was overblown, but there are many things to consider. The coronavirus pandemic caused chaos in Hollywood, and the strikes by writers and actors have only just finished.
