Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have hired an experienced Disney+ executive to join their growing production company Archewell. Chanel Pysnik has joined as Head of Unscripted and will oversee nonfiction series and documentary film productions, as part of the couple’s multi-million-pound deal with Netflix.

Access Hollywood reported: “Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are making major moves for their production company Archewell.

“According to Deadline, the couple just hired former Disney plus exec Chanel Pysnik to be Head of Unscripted projects for their lucrative deal with Netflix.

“It appears she has an acquaintance in common with Prince Harry, British soccer star David Beckham.

“One of Chanel’s projects for Disney+ was securing an unscripted series with the famous soccer player. David has been friends with the Prince for years.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced their deal with Netlix in September 2020.

It is estimated that the couple were paid £100million for the partnership, which will see them produce ‘informative and uplifting’ content.

In April, their first project ‘Heart of Invictus’ was announced, which will follow competitors and organisers of the Paralympic-style event that will next take place in the Netherlands in 2022.

Prince Harry established the international sporting tournament in 2014 for wounded veterans and servicemen and women.

Meghan Markle has also announced her first project, an animated children’s series called Pearl.

The series will follow a 12-year-old girl on ‘heroic adventures’ interacting with influential women throughout history.

The Duchess has an executive producer role alongside David Furnish, Elton John’s husband and a close family friend to the couple.

It will be the first animated series for Archewell Productions to release and will signal a transition for Meghan from acting to producing.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have also signed a £30million deal with Spotify, to produce a range of podcasts and audio content.

Aside from a one-off Holiday Special episode, the couple have not yet released material through the streaming giant.

During their interview with Oprah Winfrey, Prince Harry said that they had formed partnerships with the two platforms after being financially cut off from the Royal Family.

He stated that they had been left dependent on his mother Princess Diana’s savings, and the deals had provided them with financial security.
