Prince Harry and Meghan ‘done’ with Royal Family, insider claims – ‘It’s over’

Prince Harry “looked miserable” says Kinsey Schofield

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are “done with their former lives”, an insider has claimed as the Duke’s relationship with the Royal Family is “over”.

With the Invictus Games approaching and the release of Harry’s new Netflix docuseries Heart of Invictus, it appears the couple are attempting to focus on projects unrelated to the Royal Family.

In addition, there have been rumours Meghan Markle will be relaunching her lifestyle blog The Tig following her reappearance on social media – the Duchess recently fired up her new Instagram account which already has more than half a million followers.

One insider claimed that their separation from the Royal Family is permanent for the Sussexes, adding that Harry’s relationship with his family is “over”.

“They are done with their former lives,” a source close to the couple told The Telegraph.

Speaking on a potential meet surrounding the upcoming Invictus Games, the insider added: “They’re not talking about family. There’s no expectation that the family’s going to show up or acknowledge it or that anybody wants to see him. It’s over.”

Tensions between the Sussexes and the rest of the Royal Family exploded over the past year with the release of several projects that were critical of the Firm.

Last December, a Netflix docuseries released by the couple – Harry & Meghan – detailed their relationship, marriage and unhappiness within the Royal Family.

However, the biggest bombshell was the release of Prince Harry’s tell-all memoir Spare. The book detailed alleged conflicts between Princess Kate and Meghan, Prince William and Harry and was critical of King Charles’s wife Queen Camilla.

Spare became an overnight bestseller and kept the Sussexes in the spotlight for months – but it also highlighted their relationship with the Royals.

As the couple builds a new life in California, it appears they are now trying to distance themselves from the Royal Family.

However, it’s unclear if the Sussexes will be able to truly decouple – Prince Harry is synonymous with the family the public watched him grow up in and both retain their Duke and Duchess titles.

Still, new projects that don’t involve discussing the Firm appear to be on the horizon.

One such project is the transformation of the bestselling book Meet Me at the Lake into a Netflix blockbuster.

The streaming giant purchased the rights to Carley Fortune’s romantic novel for a reported £3million with the aim of Meghan and Harry producing the film.

With the couple looking to distance themselves from the Firm and reports emerging that Harry’s brother Prince William is still furious over allegations made in Spare any hope of reconciliation to mend the Royal rift looks unlikely at present.
