Prince Harry accused of ‘isolating himself’ from UK friends including Tiggy

Prince Harry has reportedly “isolated himself” from a host of friends and trusted advisers he once was close to in the UK.

The former royal, who stepped back from royal life in 2020, is reportedly not in touch with many of his British friends, including his former nanny Tiggy Legge-Bourke.

The Duke of Sussex has been accused of pushing away his British roots even further, as the 38-year-old settles into life in the US.

Royal experts, all appearing on the latest episode of Palace Confidential, discussed Harry’s recent fall-out with Johnny Hornby.

Mr Hornby, who is Jeremy Clarkson’s friend and business partner, made the decision to step down from his position as trustee for Harry’s charity Sentebale earlier this month.

Discussing the recent fall-out, Daily Mail columnist Sarah Vine said: “I hear he doesn’t talk to any of his old friends, he doesn’t listen to any of his old advisers, people like Tiggy [Legge-Bourke], who used to be quite key in helping him, they’re just not there anymore.”

Prior to becoming the now-King’s personal assistant, Tiggy was Prince William and Prince Harry’s nanny.

As well as having been known to stay close to both princes into their adult lives, Tiggy is also godmother to Harry’s son Archie.

Also appearing on the show, Daily Mail’s royal editor Rebecca English spoke about Harry’s childhood friends.

Describing them as a “safe pair of hands”, Ms English said: “They’re people who have Harry’s best interest genuinely at heart.”

She added: “There was a time he would listen to them, and you lose those friends at your peril.

“Your best friends are the ones who genuinely tell you the truth if you’ve made the wrong decision.”

Richard Eden, who is the Daily Mail’s diary editor, added that Harry could feel “isolated”, with Ms Vine added that he is “very isolated to me”.

Adding that what Harry appears to be doing “isn’t healthy”, Ms Vine said: “After you get married, when things get tough, it’s good to have people that outdated your marriage.”

She added that it appears that Harry “doesn’t have any friends of his own” and that it is “all American, and all Meghan”.

Harry and Meghan have been married since 2018, with the couple making a decision to move to the US in 2020.
