Prince William, Kate, Duchess of Cambridge and their three children are moving to Adelaide Cottage in Windsor from their current pad in Kensington Palace. Following the move, George, nine, Charlotte, seven, and Louis, four, will have a big change as the trio are expected to start at Lambrook School near Ascot in September.

Jonathan Perry, headmaster at Lambrook School, said: “We are delighted that Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis will be joining us this coming September and very much look forward to welcoming the family, as well as all of our new pupils, to our school community.”

The co-educational prep school charges £4,389 for reception, year one and year two, £6,448 per term for years three and four, and £6,999 per term for years five to eight.

George and Charlotte previously attended Thomas’s Battersea in London, while Louis previously attended Willcocks Nursery School.

Ben Thomas, Principal of Thomas’s London Day Schools, said: “We would like to thank George, Charlotte and all of our leaving pupils for upholding the school’s values and for their many contributions to school life throughout their time at Thomas’s. We wish them every happiness and success at their next schools and beyond.”

The Cambridges’ move to Berkshire means they will be closer to the Queen, who is mainly based at Windsor Castle and is thought to have been a key factor in William and Kate’s decision to move. They will also be closer to Kate’s parents Carole and Michael Middleton, who live in Bucklebury.

It is understood Kensington Palace will remain the future King and Queen Consort’s London base. They also have their country retreat Anmer Hall in Norfolk.

William and Kate’s new four-bedroom Windsor home does not require any renovation work or extra security, while they will no longer have live-in staff.

A source previously told the Sun: “Kate and William were very keen for a modest home to start their new lives in Windsor.

“Adelaide Cottage fits the bill because it is a four-bedroom home and they do not need any more as they have no live-in staff.

“They were adamant they didn’t want anything too showy or anything that needed renovating or extra security so as not to be a burden on the taxpayer.

“The added bonus is they can send George, Charlotte and Louis to school together locally.

“They had no other demands than a pleasant family home close to schools and the Queen.”

It comes after George, Charlotte and Louis delighted royal fans with their appearances at the Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June.

The family are reportedly currently visiting the Queen during her annual summer break at Balmoral in the Scottish Highlands.
