Prince George faces major pressure as just four working royals are aged under 70
Prince George is set to face major pressure in the future as, with the current monarchy, there are only four working royals under the age of 70.
King Charles took over the throne at the age of 73, with Queen Camilla being slightly older at 75.
The only working royals who are under 70 are the Prince and Princess of Wales and the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh.
According to royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams, the “future of the institution” depends on Prince William, Princess Kate and their three children – including 10-year-old Prince George.
George will one day take up the huge task of being King and is currently second in line to the throne, followed in line by his siblings Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Speaking to Express.co.uk, Mr Fitzwilliams said: “There is enormous interest whenever George and his siblings appear at various events.
“The coverage goes worldwide and is certainly beneficial to the monarchy.
“It is also true that only four of the members of the Royal Family currently carrying out royal duties are under 70.
“The future of the institution clearly depends on the Waleses and their children.”

At present, George and his siblings are still students at Lambrook School in Berkshire.
The trio started at the school in 2022 following Kate and William’s decision to move their young family to Windsor.
Although he is only ten, speculation has started as to where George will carry on his studies once he turns 13.
There was speculation that he could follow his father’s footsteps to Eton College, but recent reports suggest he could go to Marlborough College.
