Prince George DEBUTS at Sandringham as he arrives with Kate and William to church
Prince George took part for the first time in the short walk between Sandringham House and the chapel regularly attended by the Queen when she is in Norfolk.
The third-in-line to the throne looked all grown-up wrapped up in a coat as he walked side by side to his parents.
George, six, has never attended Christmas Day service in Sandringham.
Speculation the little Cambridge would take part in this much-anticipated event were fuelled after a royal source claimed both Prince George and Princess Charlotte were now old enough to attend.
They told The Sun: “It will be so sweet.
“George and Charlotte will make their Christmas debut, as long as they’re both on good form on the day.
“It’s the picture all royal fans want to see.
“The royals walking to church on Christmas Day is a rite of passage and so William and Kate didn’t want to expose their children too early, but they feel they’re old enough now.”
This walkabout from the Queen’s residence to the chapel is often regarded by commentators as a proper royal duty, with well-wishers and royal fans gathering outside of the church to catch a glimpse of the royals.
Royal parents usually wait for their children to be old enough to attend this special service with the Queen.
Prince William made his first appearance outside St Mary Magdalene Church on Christmas Day aged five, in 1987.
The future King walked close to his mother, late Princess Diana, and waved to photographers and well-wishers outside of the church.
Similarly, his brother Prince Harry was introduced to the annual ritual at Sandringham the year later, after turning four.
This is not the first time royal fans are delighted by pictures of the little royal.
Prince George and his sister Charlotte were spotted arriving at church in 2016, when Kate and William decided to spend the festive season with the Middletons in Bucklebury.
