Prince Edward shoots down Omid Scobie in public with one subtle move

Prince Edward given Duke of Edinburgh title in March

Buckingham Palace appears to have subtly hit back at one of Omid Scobie’s claims in his new explosive book Endgame.

The author claimed in the book that a royal source said Prince Edward is a “massive germaphobe”.

The book read that he “famously avoids most physical contact with the great unwashed.”

But now Buckingham Palace released a video of the Duke of Edinburgh visiting the Wharf Studios in Barking and Dagenham, east London, last week, subtly rebuking Scobie’s claims.

The royal – who is a patron of The Production Guild – can be seen shaking hands with members of the public during his visit which took place to mark ten years of filmmaking.

Endgame was released last month and it unleashes a series of sensational claims and scathing accusations against the Royal Family.

The book has been dominating headlines ever since, while the Dutch version had to be pulled off the shelves on release day after it named two senior royals who allegedly held discussions about the skin colour of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s first child, Prince Archie.

The Daily Express has chosen not to name the two individuals. The author repeatedly denied he had ever mentioned the two royals and refused to apologise.

But in a column last week, Scobie admitted that an “early and uncleared text” was given to the publisher in the Netherlands. The Dutch edition was not the final version he had submitted, he added.

Later, Dutch publisher Xander Uitgevers hit out at Scobie’s claims and branded his explanation as “factually incorrect”.

It added that it “is not allowed to say anything about the content”.
