Prince Charles and Matt Hancock found themselves doing “Hokey Cokey” during their latest meeting. The awkward moment was caught on camera and posted to Twitter by Daily Express Royal Correspondent Richard Palmer. The Prince of Wales had been visiting NHS staff at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.

Mr Palmer tweeted: “Prince Charles does the Hokey Cokey with Health Secretary Matt Hancock.

“The man described by his Prime Minister as ‘totally ******* hopeless’.”

In the video, the future king is welcomed into the hospital and introduced to Mr Hancock first.

He makes the namaste gesture with his hands.

It is a social distancing tool that the Prince of Wales has used since the beginning of the pandemic.

However after the gesture, the Health Secretary offers his elbow for a bump.

Many members of the Royal Family, including Charles, have employed elbow bumps instead of handshakes throughout the coronavirus crisis.

However in the video taken, the two men repeatedly fail to perform the act, each missing each other’s elbows.

Charles chuckles and describes the moment as “the Hokey Cokey”.

This draws laughs from those surrounding them, including Mr Hancock.

The pair abandon their efforts and talk for a while before the video ends.
