Prince Charles makes radical call for green taxes after flying to Davos on private jet
The future King Prince Charles delivered an address on the future of the world economy in light of his tireless campaigning on the environment over the years. Speaking to the assembled crowd and global media the Prince of Wales launched a project aimed at helping financial markets to become more sustainable. He also used the intervention to warn the dangers of a warming planet and the “devastating loss of biodiversity” are among the greatest threats to mankind today.
Speaking in Davos, Switzerland Prince Charles explained he had long fought on environmental issues.
He said: “Quite frankly sometimes it has been an uphill struggle. But now, it is time to take it to the next level.
“In order to secure our future, we need to evolve our economic model.
“Having been engaged in these issues since 1968 when I made my first speech on the environment and having spoken to countless experts across the globe throughout those decades, I have come to realise it is not a lack of capital that is holding us back but rather the way in which we deploy it.
“Therefore, to move forward we need nothing short of a paradigm shift – one that inspires action at revolutionary levels.”
