Prince Charles heartbreak: Royal makes devastating post during visit to New Zealand
The royal is an environmental enthusiast who has used his position to try and influence change within society. And during his royal stay with wife Camilla, Charles has been meeting up with organisations dedicated to tackling environmental issues. Prince Charles was also snapped talking to local volunteers about the work being carried out to clear plastic from the coastal waters near New Zealand.
The group Charles was visiting is called Sea Cleaners.
In a heartbreaking update, the Clarence House Instagram account added: “Since 2002, 160,000 volunteer hours have gone into removing 8.5million litres of waste from the sea, whilst spreading the word to school groups, community groups, businesses and Maori Iwi.
“HRH travelled around the harbour on the Sea Cleaners ‘plastic patrol’ boat and was shown some of the rubbish the organisation has removed from the sea.
“Did you know The Prince first spoke publicly about his concerns regarding the impact of plastic pollution on the natural world in 1970?”
A video showing a sunglasses-wearing Prince Charles aboard a boat on the water chatting to a volunteer was also added.
Prince Charles has been seen doing a number of activities during his trip to New Zealand.
The Prince of Wales was also taught how to screen print a T-shirt on his first day on tour.
