Prince Charles ‘fly in the ointment’ for Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew reunion

Prince Charles is a “fly in the ointment” for the rumoured reunion between Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew, claimed a royal insider. Dan Wootton said Prince Charles is reportedly “opposed” to Fergie, despite Prince William and Harry being a “big fan” of their aunt. Mr Wootton told ITV’s Lorraine: “The Queen has always loved Fergie, invited her to spend some time with her at Balmoral over the summer for the past three years. But there is a fly in the ointment, and it’s Prince Charles, which is a bit of a problem given he is the future King.

“Hasn’t had the strong relationship with Prince Andrew for many years and quite opposed to Fergie because of the fact that Fergie took Princess Diana’s side over Camilla, when all of that was kicking off.

“But interestingly William and Harry, big fan of their aunt, because remember they are very good friends with Beatrice and Eugenie.”

The royal commentator also claimed Fergie and Prince Andrew are in a “friends with benefits” relationship.

He said: “I have learned they are at the moment in a relationship that is described as ‘friends with benefits’.

“While they have lived in this house for some time, the lodge at Windsor, they are now back committed to each other. As in, they are not seeing anyone else. They are not dating anyone else.”

Fergie and Prince Andrew divorced in 1996 after separating in 1992.

Despite their divorce, Fergie and Andrew reportedly still live together, and stood together for Princess Eugenie’s wedding portrait.

Fergie and Prince Andrew have been at the heart of romance rumours, and some are convinced the royal pair are back together.

Fergie sparked speculation that the pair could have rekindled their romance recently, after she took to Instagram to share a glimpse at their “wonderful” weekend getaway to Bahrain.

She posted two different uploads from the exciting day with her 181,000 Instagram followers.

In one capture, Sarah and Princess Beatrice can be seen posing for a selfie with Champion Jockey Frankie Dettori, 48.

And, while Prince Andrew may not have been in shot, the Duchess of York confirmed that she had been in the company of her ex-husband.

She posted: “With the amazing @jean_alesi27 at the Bahrain Grand Prix. Having a wonderful time with @hrhthedukeofyork and Beatrice #familytime #backtoworkonmonday @f1 #formula1.”

Speaking to the Mirror, a senior Palace source said: “While [the] Duke and Duchess are not officially back together, it is fair to say their relationship is incredibly strong.

“The two of them are not involved in relationships with anyone else, which of course likely to fuel rumours of an unlikely reunion.

“They very much enjoy each other’s company and their public displays of affection for one another are becoming more frequent.”

Body language expert, Judi James, told Express.co.uk what Fergie and Prince Andrew’s body language means and if this showed they will get back together.

Referring to Princess Eugenie’s wedding portrait, Ms James said: “The wedding was a frustrating event for everyone keen to see Fergie and Andrew finally show signs of re-kindling their relationship.

“Pre-wedding photos showed them laughing together and looking quite intimate, with Sarah appearing to reprise her role as the woman who could cut through some of Andrew’s pompous behaviours and make him laugh.”

Despite sparking marriage pleas from fans, Sarah officially denied the suggestion that they could be back together.

A spokesman for the Duchess of York said: “The Duke and Duchess of York continue to be good friends and nothing has changed in their relationship.”
