Royal expert Ingrid Seward noted that Prince Charles intends to go ahead with his plan to slim down the monarchy when he becomes King. While speaking to Mike Graham on TalkRadio, Ms Seward said Prince Charles has plans to protect the monarchy. Ms Seward claimed he would be doing this by reducing the monarchy to primary members, which would not include Meghan Markle or Prince Harry.

Ms Seward: “Prince Charles is very keen, he has said this, he wants to narrow the Royal Family down.

“Instead of expanding the Royal Family, he wants to reduce it to the primary members.

“These primary members will do most of the work.

“Prince Charles feels that there are just too many members of the Royal Family out and about.

“Therefore they become very open to criticism as people say well why are our hard-earned taxes going on this.

“I think Prince Charles is trying to protect the monarchy.”

Mr Graham agreed and noted that both Meghan and Harry have complained about the institution of the monarchy.

He added it should not be an issue for them if they or their children lose their titles.

He said: “From Harry and Meghan’s perspective they have been going on about how they don’t care about titles and that they don’t want to be part of the Royal Family.

“Harry says he found being a member of it was terribly constricting, felt like he was in a cage and couldn’t be himself, so why would they want it in any way?”

Ms Seward replied: “Exactly, I think what Prince Charles is doing is keeping the Prince and Princess titles for William’s children and no one else.

“Which I think is terribly sensible.”

Mr Graham agreed and noted that there are already Royal Family members that Meghan and Harry’s children could emulate in future.

He said: “Somebody said this morning on the radio that Archie and Lilibet should be like Princess Anne’s kids.

“They seem to be able to go through life without titles and do okay, they have their own business interests and everyone is quite happy.”
