Royal editor and commentator, Robert Jobson, argued Prince Charles was “without a shadow of a doubt” the hardest-working Royal Family member currently after having to step in for the Queen in recent months. Mr Jobson explained there was a lot of work put in by him “after hours” which is not seen by the public and that he was an “absolute workaholic”. Mr Jobson then batted back criticisms levelled at the Prince of Wales after he was seen “falling asleep” during his visit to Barbados.
Speaking on the Royal Beat podcast, Mr Jobson discussed the work of the Royal Family and threw his support behind Prince Charles.
He told the panel: “There used an ongoing joke among the royal household, it’s probably unfair, that [the royals] walk into one room and that’s one job, walks into another room and that’s another job.
“I would say the Prince of Wales is the hardest-working member of the Royal Family.
“They don’t know what he does in terms of the amount of work he puts in after hours, he’s effectively stepping in for Her Majesty most of the time.
“He’s an absolute workaholic and I must tell you… He is travelling internationally and everyone was having a go at him for falling asleep in Barbados.
“But the reality is that he never stops and without a shadow of a doubt he is the hardest-working royal.”
Prince Charles has been ramping up his royal duties in preparation for his ascendance of the throne and has been working with the Commonwealth to help the Queen.
Recently, Prince Charles stood in for the Queen who was due to appear in Barbados after they formally became a republic on November 30.
However, Prince Charles was seen nodding his head during the ceremony as it appeared the future king was falling asleep.

The Prince of Wales attended the ceremony which started at 11.30pm local time or 3.30am UK time.
Prince Charles addressed the UK’s involvement in the slave trade and branded it the “darkest days of our past'” but add the “creation of this republic offers a new beginning”.
The Queen’s health was called into question after she was forced to cancel her visit to the Cop26 summit on the order of doctors.
The Queen also cancelled a trip to Northern Ireland marking its centenary of the partition and it was revealed soon after she spent time in hospital.
Buckingham Palace later said the monarch was dealing with a back sprain and needed to rest.

Royal commentator Sarah Vine believes the Queen should step back from royal duties entirely and give Prince Charles more responsibility.
Speaking to Palace Confidential on Mail+, Ms Vine said: “She could just retire and hand over to Charles.
“She doesn’t have to die to do that, does she? She could just say, ‘I’m still Queen’.
“That’s what I think would be the sensible thing. I think he would have the chance to establish himself under her watchful eye and we’ll all get used to the idea.
“And when she very sadly does die, it will be a very sad event but it won’t be a catastrophic headache.”
