Prince Andrew has categorically and consistently denied the claims. In court documents, Virginia Roberts Giuffre alleged she was the victim of sex trafficking and abuse by disgraced billionaire Jeffrey Epstein from the age of 16. She claimed ger abuse involved being lent out to other men, including Prince Andrew, and alleged the Duke sexually assaulted her on three occasions when she was under the age of 18.

Prince Andrew’s lawyers rebuked Ms Roberts Giuffre’s claims over the weekend, claiming she is seeking a “payday” at Andrew’s expense and referred to accusations that Ms Roberts Guiffre was a “sex kitten.”

Royal expert Camilla Tominey spoke about the Duke’s case on The Royal Beat.

Ms Tominey claimed: “It’s always been briefed by Buckingham Palace who seem to have washed their hands of this whole saga.

“Which is why he’s devolved it to his own personal team.”

“They don’t really comment on it anymore, do they?”

She further claimed: “He’s got independent PRs dealing with it now who he’s paying or the Queen is paying and a legal team who he’s paying or the Queen is paying.

“The point is, he’s always vehemently denied any of these allegations.

“This is a change in legal tack to basically take the fight to Roberts.”

Virginia Roberts Giuffre’s lawyer David Boies has voiced his intentions to speak with two British witnesses to a New York judge.

Prince Andrew has not been charged with crimes.

The royal had in September invoked British and international law in claiming that Ms Roberts Giuffre had not properly served him with her lawsuit, but later dropped his objections.

The Duke of York gave up many royal duties and lost support from charities and organizations after failing to appear sympathetic toward Epstein’s victims in a November 2019 BBC interview.

US District Judge Lewis Kaplan in Manhattan said he anticipated a trial on Virginia Roberts Giuffre’s civil claims would begin between September and December 2022.

Mr Kaplan said in a phone conference with Andrew’s and Giuffre’s lawyers: ”I will look at the possibility of September, but in any case October through December as being the target here.”

Ms Roberts Giuffre sued Andrew, Queen Elizabeth’s second son, for unspecified damages in August.

She claimed Andrew forced her to have sex at the London home of longtime Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell, and abused her at Epstein’s mansion in Manhattan and on one of Epstein’s private islands in the SUS Virgin Islands.

The conference came five days after Andrew said he “unequivocally denies Giuffre’s false accusations against him” and urged Judge Kaplan to dismiss the lawsuit.
