Royal commentator Neil Sean has claimed the Duke of York wants to return to the public eye as a member of the Royal Family. And, he added, Prince Andrew believes his daughters Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice may play a key role in helping him with his plan.

Taking to his YouTube account, Mr Sean said: “Andrew wants to make a return which he thinks could be achieved by his daughters carrying out charitable work.”

Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice were never granted an official role within the Royal Family.

While, as grandchildren of the sovereign, they have HRH styles and royal titles, they have crafted their own paths far from the Firm.

After earning their university degrees, Eugenie went on to work in an art gallery while Beatrice is employed by a US-based technology company.

Nevertheless, the sisters have stepped up to the plate whenever their presence was needed by the Firm, taking part over the years in garden parties or other events such as Trooping the Colour.

In 2019, Princess Eugenie accompanied the Queen to St George’s Chapel for the beloved Maundy Thursday service.

Last month, both sisters were a key presence throughout the four days of celebrations for Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee.

Beatrice and Eugenie attended most of the events opened to wider members of the Firm.

And they even headed to a street party organised in the borough of Westminster to take part in activities and meet royal fans.

Princess Beatrice was caught on camera telling one of the party attendees she is “very, very lucky” to have the Queen as her grandmother.
