The Duke of York, who stepped back as a senior royal over his links to convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein 18 months ago, left Windsor Castle in a green Bentley Flying Spur. The luxury sports car, which either has a 6.0 litre W12 engine or a “characterful and agile” 4.0 litre twin-turbocharged V8, is capable of hitting speeds up to 200mph.

The Duke, 61, was seen departing the castle following Prince Philip’s funeral and heading back to the nearby Royal Lodge home he shares with ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, also 61.

The saloon was blue when delivered in September, the Sun reports.

He had it resprayed British racing green and issued with his personalised plate.

It replaces his previous Bentley in his luxury car fleet, which includes a petrol-hybrid £115,000 Range Rover.

The news emerged as the prince tries to rebuild his reputation following his disastrous Newsnight interview over his links to Epstein – who died in prison while awaiting trial in 2019.

One of his victims, Virginia Giuffre-Roberts – who was groomed while a teenager by the billionaire paedophile – claims she had sex “at least” three times with the prince when she was 17.

He strenuously denies the allegations and has “no recollection” of ever meeting her.

But her claims, and scandal surrounding Epstein, dogged the Prince for years before they culminated in the BBC interview in November 2019.

Presenter Emily Maitlis grilled the Prince, who sparked outrage after he failed to show any sympathy for Epstein’s victims.

The fallout led to Andrew stepping back as a senior royal – and he has tried to keep a low profile ever since.

However he resurfaced last week to pay tribute to his late father – who passed away aged 99 last Friday and was buried at Windsor Castle on Saturday.

There have been claims that he is using the event to rebuild his battered reputation – and move back into the fold.

But this latest show of his incredible wealth will do little to convince sceptics that he has learned from his mistakes.

One social media user wrote: “You’d think #PrinceAndrew would hide away. Yet here he is taking the Bentley out for a spin.”

On its website Bently proudly flaunts the new Flying Spur.

It says: “(It) brings every element of Bentley’s extraordinary DNA together in perfect, seamless balance.
