St Sebastian’s RC Primary School in Charlestown, Salford has sent a text message to parents saying the school is in a “precautionary lockdown.” The text, which has been seen by the Manchester Evening News (MEN), read: “Due to an incident in the adjacent building school is currently in lockdown as a precaution.

“All are safe. Please do not ring the school.

“We will advise further.”

A witness told the MEN that police were called after a fight broke out at a location next to primary school.

Both buildings were closed immediately, the witness said.
