The couple are now tipped to win the latest instalment of the hit BBC One series, with odds of 1/2. The research conducted from Casino Grounds found out the UK searches for ‘sign language’ saw a 488 percent increase after Rose and Giovanni’s Viennese Waltz to Alicia’s Keys Fallin incorporated British Sign Language into their dance on October 23.
The search volume for ‘learn sign language’ rose by 1,011 percent from 5pm to 8pm on Saturday 23rd in just three hours whilst Strictly Come Dancing was on television.
Also British Sign Language (BSL) saw a 221 percent increase in search volume after Rose and Giovanni’s performance.
Dan-Louis Kvalstad SEO manager at Casino Grounds told Express.co.uk: “Not only has the interest in British Sign Language skyrocketed since last Saturday’s show, but so has the interest in Rose and Giovanni as the search term for the pair has soared 1,150 percent since last weekend’s show – suggesting that the pair are favourites for the glitterball.”
He added: “This is an amazing example of the entertainment industry reaching millions of people and utilising the platform to represent diversity, and have a wide-reaching, positive impact.”
“The positive impact that Rose has brought to the deaf community – seeing people want to educate themselves on sign language after her performance, has certainly contributed to the fantastic response they have received as a dancing pair.”
A spokesperson for CasinoGrounds.com told Express.co.uk: “This analysis has shown that Rose is really making an impact through her appearance on UK televisions every weekend.
“This data not only shows that the British public are taking more of an interest in British Sign Language but are also wanting to actively learn sign language themselves as a result of Rose’s time on Strictly.”
They added: “The incorporation of sign language into the choreography highlights the growing representation of the deaf community on our screens.
“Not only will this hopefully give confidence to people just like Rose, but also educate viewers on British Sign Language and the importance of communication.”
The dance couple received their first ten of the series for their recent performance.
After scoring 37 points for their rendition of the Viennese waltz and ultimately coming in at second place, there is a high possibility she could progress to first place.
Betfair spokesperson Sam Rosbottom said: “After another fantastic performance on the Strictly dance floor, Rose Ayling-Ellis is now the clearest sole favourite yet to.”
