Police seal off Birmingham area after gunshots fired at windows

Gunshots were fired at a residential property in Hodge Hill Birmingham, according to police. Officers found that windows at the property had been damaged, no one was injured.
Drews Lane, where the property was located, was cordoned off by police as they carried out a forensic investigation.
“Police closed off Drews Lane this morning and were searching the bins. Officers were around the streets and it was clear something big had happened,” resident Anwar Afsal told Birmingham Live.
Cordons were put in place for specialist forensic searches along the road between the A4040 Bromford Lane and B4114 Washwood Heath Road.
The area was closed off for much of the day, police were looking for CCTV from homes and businesses in the area.
West Midlands Police confirmed that no one was injured.
A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “We’re investigating after shots were fired at a property in Drews Lane, Hodge Hill, at around 3.40am today.
“Officers attended and found windows had been damaged but thankfully no-one was reported injured. A forensic examination is being carried out with officers making house-to-house enquiries and reviewing CCTV from the area as enquiries continue.”
