A police officer has been airlifted to hospital after being stabbed at a house.

The officer was attacked while attending a property in Maidstone, Kent at around 8pm yesterday.

Following the assault at an address in Albion Place, a 48-year-old man from Maidstone was arrested.

A Kent Police spokesman said: ‘The officer was airlifted to a London hospital with injuries consistent with stab wounds.

‘He remains there in a serious but stable condition.’
