The second of two women found in a freezer in east London has been named as Henriett Szucs.

The 34-year-old was a Hungarian citizen and had lived in the UK for several years but had no fixed address, according to the Metropolitan Police.

Her next of kin has been informed, but formal identification has not yet taken place.

Officers are now investigating whether she had been seen since 2016, when they know she spoke to someone she knew in Hungary on the phone.

It comes after police confirmed the first victim was Mihirican Mustafa, 38, who had been reported missing on 10 May 2018.

Police have referred themselves to the Independent Office for Police Conduct because they had been conducting work to find her.

Post-mortem examinations have been carried out for both women and no cause of death has been established. However, both women were found to have suffered multiple injuries.

Further tests are being carried out.

Detective Chief Inspector Simon Harding, of the Homicide and Major Crime Command, said: “Today we have been able to confirm to Henriett’s family that she is sadly one of the women found in the property at Vandome Close.

“Now we know Henriett’s identity, we would appeal for anyone with information about her and in particular her association with the address in Vandome Close where she was found to come forward.

“We understand she was last heard from in the summer of 2016 when she spoke to somebody she knew in Hungary on the phone; we need to establish if that was the last known contact with Henriett and I would ask anyone who heard from her after that time to contact my team.”

Police were called to the address in Canning Town on 26 April at about 11.45am following concerns about the welfare of a male occupant.

They discovered the bodies after gaining entry.

Officers have said they know the address was used by “transient members of the community” who moved from place to place, and that it was frequented by drug users.

Last week, Zarhid Younis was charged with two counts of preventing the lawful and decent burial of a dead body, Scotland Yard said.

The 34-year-old, of Vandrome Close, Canning Town, appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court last week.
