North Wales Police had urged the public to look out for the youngster, who was last seen near the Spar store in Flint on Sunday, January 9.

A police spokesman said: “We have received reports of a young boy in Oakenholt alone, he was last sighted near the Spar in Flint.

“The child was wearing pyjamas and a batman dressing gown.

“If you have seen this child, or are aware of who he is, please contact us on 101 or online quoting the reference number B003961.”

Officers searched overnight for the child, but could not find the young boy.

Chief Inspector Andrew Griffiths confirmed at midnight North Wales Police has not received any reports of a missing child.

Helicopter pilots and uniformed officers spent last night scouring the town for the boy.

He told Wales Online: “As a result of the initial report of an unaccompanied child we have conducted extensive and coordinated air and ground searches.

“These searches have not received any sightings or information.

“As we have not had any reports of a missing child I am satisfied at this time that the unidentified child is no longer on the streets.”

However, Mr Griffiths said PCs will continue to their efforts to find the boy and make sure he’s safe.

Wellwishers have been posting messages online about the missing youngster.

One woman wrote on North Wales Police’s Facebook page: “Hope he is found bless him wonder why he out alone.”

Another lady said: “Hope he’s found asap he must be absolutely frozen”

And a third wrote: “hope that he is found safe and well. Hopefully he is already home and his parents have spoken to him about going out alone such a scary thought xxxx.”
