A rollerblader who turned a corner at full speed only to be greeted by King Charles’ motorcade and police officers was tackled to the ground last night.

The incident in London’s Parliament Square saw the man seemingly evade security until he was within feet of the new monarch’s vehicle.

At least five officers jumped in to detain the man, as the King drove by at around 7.40pm.

The man, who was wearing at least one headphone, was floored and held on the ground by officers.

Footage shows police shouting at the man and whistling as he heads down the road.

He appears to slow down as he sees the motorcade, before being unceremoniously grabbed by police.

Meanwhile, the officer riding a motorbike at the front of the King’s motorcade was forced to slow down as the incident unfolded in front of him.

It is the latest security scare following the death of Queen Elizabeth last Thursday, September 8.

A man ran into the road last week to take a picture of Charles feet away from his car.

And last night police tackled a man to the ground after he ‘rushed’ towards the Queen’s coffin in Westminster Hall.

In a statement on the latest incident, the Metropolitan Police called the rollerblader a ‘pedestrian’ and confirmed he was eventually released.

‘At approximately 7.40pm, as police vehicles were entering Parliament Square, a pedestrian attempted to cross the road’, the force explained.

‘An officer on foot quickly intervened, bringing the man to the ground in order to stop him from continuing.’

Footage actually shows one officer take the man down, before at least four others pile in.

The Met added: ‘The man was subsequently spoken to by officers before being let on his way.’
