Plane fire erupts at Heathrow Airport as firefighters race to scene

Firefighters have raced to Heathrow Airport after reports of a fire in the engine of an aircraft. Fire engines from Heathrow, Hayes, and Hillingdon fire stations were all called to the scene. The fire is on board an aircraft but the blaze was contained to the engine and is now under control. It is unclear what caused the fire. Firefighters were called to the incident just before 10am this morning to the fire. 

Three fire engines and around 15 firefighters from Heathrow, Hayes and Hillingdon fire stations were called to the scene.
