The GMB host has been a constant critic of the Government’s handling of the coronavirus crisis so far. In particular, Mr Morgan has been engaged in a running battle with Mr Hancock throughout the pandemic. In his latest attack on the Health Secretary, Mr Morgan quoted a Daily Mail article which repeated his claim Mr Hancock was a “bossy school prefect”.

Piers said this morning: “Health Secretary Matt Hancock, confirms in today’s Daily Mail article my allegation that he’s a ‘bossy school prefect’.”

Last week, Piers also hit out at the Health Secretary for a response he gave regarding the lack of information on who has been tested for the virus.

Currently, the Government does not provide data for those who have been tested.

Instead, the Department for Health and Social Care provides the total number of tests sent or carried out.

The individual data has not been published for five weeks much to the rage of the Good Morning Britain host.

In an interview with BBC Breakfast, when quizzed on the lack of individual data, Mr Hancock claimed releasing the data did not add to the battle against COVID-19.

Mr Hancok said: “It just doesn’t add anything to the battle against coronavirus.

“It doesn’t help people to know what to do at a local level because we are several months into this fight.

“The meaningful figure is how many tests are being conducted, where they’re being conducted and where the positive test results are.”

In response, Piers said: “What could possibly be more important?

“And then you pretend it’s meaningless.

“It’s utterly shocking. Get back on this programme and face some proper questions.

“He’s not coming on the programme. It’s the nine-week anniversary today since the boycott of Good Morning Britain.

“He will be talking to other programmes and we will be monitoring those and asking supplementary questions on your behalf.

“He doesn’t think you, the GMB viewers, have any interest in hearing from him well done Health Secretary, again.”

As it stands, the UK’s death total stands at 44,131 after an increase of 137 in data up to 5pm on July 2.

In the latest statistics, the number of cases rose by 544 to 284,276.

The number of tests also increased by 205,673 and now stands at 10,120,276.

It is unclear how many people have been tested within these statistics.

This comes as bars and restaurants reopen today in England.
