Prince Philip was visited by his son Prince Charles during his month-long stay in hospital in the weeks before his death. According to Russell Myers, the Duke met with the Prince of Wales on several occasions in recent months to discuss him taking over the “management of the estate.” The royal expert also claimed Philip urged his eldest to “take care” of the Queen among other advice for the future.

The commentator told Prince Charles to “take care of the business of the monarchy” – a feat the royal is expected to carry out with ease considering his years of experience in managing the extensive Duchy of Cornwall.

Mr Myers also claimed the Duke demanded to be brought home from the hospital after spending more than three weeks at King Edward VII Hospital and St Bart’s to undergo treatment for a pre-existing heart condition.
