Park Royal Range Rover driver 'in a coma' since horror crash
The driver of a Range Rover involved in a horrific crash at a London station which left a woman dead has been named as jewellery store manager Rida Al Mousawi.
He was himself seriously hurt, and his family told how has been in a coma since the crash.
Footage of the smash showed how the SUV careered out of control before hitting a parked Tesla with a man inside, then launched over a pavement and landed on the tracks at Park Royal just before 4am on Monday morning, causing disruption to the Piccadilly line.
Iraqi-born Al Mousawi, 24, ran Hiba Jewellery store in Edgware Road, which was closed yesterday.
Mail Online named him as the driver after visiting the street and speaking to other shopkeepers, who said he was well known in the area for his passion for cars.
They reported that he remains in a critical condition at St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington.

The woman who died at the scene was a 33-year-old mother with one daughter, while the other female passenger, 26, survived with non-life threatening injuries.
Both women had reportedly been at Wish Lounge shisha restaurant in Park Royal and Al Mousawi was giving them a lift when the crash happened.
The man in the Tesla, aged 56, was treated for injuries which were not life threatening.
A family member told the paper that there were fears he might have to have his leg amputated but that doctors managed to save his limb, though he has now regained consciousness.
‘I have seen Rida at hospital at St Mary’s and he has been in a coma since the accident,’ he said.
A fellow shopkeeper in Edgware Road who works near the Range Rover driver told the paper: ‘We heard he was involved in the crash and in a very bad way. We are all hoping he survives as he is such a nice young man.’
‘It is just terrible, and we knew something was wrong when he did not come to open the store.’
A friend said the woman who died was was getting a lift with Al Mousawi to jump start her broken down car.
They said: ‘The person that was driving wasn’t in the venue. The girls had been at a private party in Chelsea which I was at and they said to me “can you drop us back, we need to get the car sorted”.
‘Rada then came and met them here. The woman who died and the driver are known to each other. They are all known to each other.
‘Everyone in the Middle Eastern community around here knows each other through family, friends and school.
‘She wanted to jump start the car and she was adamant she would do it that night.
‘She was a mum with a 12-year-old daughter.’
Some living near to the crash scene described seeing cars speeding and racing in the area in the months before the deadly crash.
Residents of Baronet House, which overlooks the crash scene, said people race cars on the roundabout outside the block at night.
One woman, who did not want to be named, added: ‘They do it all night, there are always racing cars downstairs at weekends and sometimes in the week as well.
‘Sometimes it starts early at around 9pm, but mostly it is from midnight onwards.’
Klevisa Hyka, 28, who also lives nearby, added: ‘These complaints have been going on for a long time, including to the council. The council has not really done much.’
Another resident added: ‘The racers are constantly near the shisha lounges. They are constantly running around these estates.
‘This kind of accident is expected because there is a whole culture around speed racing. Almost everyone here has complained.’
