Paramedic who saved girl’s life branded ‘APPALLING’ by resident whose driveway was blocked
Chris James Nixon was left shocked after finding an abusive note on the windscreen of his Ambulance after treating the patient who was in a life-or-death situation.
The heroic medic from North East Ambulance Service took to social media to voice his frustration at what had occurred on Friday afternoon.
Mr Nixon wrote on Facebook: “Whilst working hard to save a young girl’s life in the back of the ambulance, received this from a fan who left it on our windscreen!”
In a second post, he shared the hand-written note left on his vehicle which threatened to report him for his actions.
The angry resident also took photos of the vehicle and insisted he should be held responsible for blocking entrance into his home.
The note, with its grammar corrected read: “I have taken pictures of you leaving your ambulance in the middle of the road, when there is no need for. See pic.
“Your behaviour is appalling and you should be held responsible for your actions as ‘professional driver’.”
The letter ends without the culprit’s name, and is signed off from: “Resident who can’t get to his house!”
The paramedic’s post has since gone viral and members of the public have reacted angrily towards the resident.
Mr Nixon also responded to one of the posts to reinforce to severity of the situation.
He wrote: “Was a bad trauma job as well. HART (Hazardous Area Response Team) was in the back with me.”
One appalled user commented: “So when they call for an ambulance, make sure you park legally, maybe pay and display. All the while they’re bleeding to death.”
Another user said: “That’s absolutely disgusting!”
A third furious user wrote: “Wow! I can’t believe these people actually exist!”
