Jeremy Clarkson’s declaration of hatred for Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, has seen Buckingham Palace urged to detach Queen Camilla from the former Top Gear presenter, believed to be a close friend. On Sunday, former BBC correspondent Peter Hunt tweeted that the comments made offer the Palace a “chance” to “distance” the new Queen from her friend, particularly due to Camilla’s high-profile efforts for raising awareness and campaigning about violence against women.
The ex-Top Gear host wrote in a newspaper column that he is “dreaming of the day” that Meghan Markle must “parade naked” in “every town” as people hurl excrement at her.
In the column, Mr Clarkson wrote: “I hate [Meghan].
“Not like I hate Nicola Sturgeon or Rose West.
“I hate her on a cellular level.”
Mr Clarkson added: “At night, I’m unable to sleep as I lie there, grinding his teeth and dreaming of the day when she is made to parade naked through the streets of every town in Britain while the crowds chant, “Shame!” and throw lumps of excrement at her.”
He also called her “a woman talking b*****ks”.
Mr Hunt has called for a “distance” between Camilla and Jeremy after his comments, especially after the new Queen’s recent event at Buckingham Palace.
Last month, the Queen Consort marked the annual 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence by delivering a speech at a Buckingham Palace reception.
In her speech, she condemned “a global pandemic of violence against women” and called for an end to these “heinous crimes”.

The Queen Consort said survivors of domestic abuse need to be “listened to and believed” as she added that during the 16 days, police figures showed that 3,000 women would be raped in England and Wales.
According to Palace sources, Camilla feels “passionately” about this issue.
Mr Clarkson’s comments were in response to the Harry and Meghan documentary on Netflix and posted December 16.

His comments have been were widely condemned as “vile and disgusting”, with his daughter even condemning the comments.
Posting on her Instagram Stories two days after the comments surfaced, Jeremy’s daughter Emily, 28, wrote: “My views are and have always been clear when it comes to misogyny, bullying and the treatment of women by the media.”
She added: “I want to make it very clear that I stand against everything that my dad wrote about Meghan Markle.
“I remain standing in support of those that are targeted with online hatred.”
