This puzzle has got most people licked in their efforts to try and find the lollipop hidden among rows of ice creams. The camouflaged candy is part of a puzzle devised by brainteaser master Gergely Dudás whose hide-and-seek illustrations often have people scratching their heads.

In this picture, the brainteaser is packed full of pink, blue, white and green ice cream scoops in cornets arrayed against a light blue background.

As you can see the lollipop was cunningly hidden over to the top right of the image, nestled between some confusing frozen dairy products.

According to the book Food for Thought: Extraordinary Little Chronicles of the World, lollipops were invented by George Smith of New Haven, Connecticut, who started making large hard candies mounted on sticks in 1908.

He named them after a racehorse of the time, Lolly Pop – and trademarked the lollipop name in 1931.
