Omid Scobie lashes out after Charles snubs Sarah Ferguson
Omid Scobie has lashed out at the King’s reported decision to not invite his former sister-in-law, Sarah Ferguson, to his forthcoming Coronation. The 63-year-old, who is also known as Fergie, was married to Prince Andrew for 10 years – until 1996. Sarah and Prince Andrew’s two daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, are expected to attend the ceremony on May 6.
Taking to Twitter, Mr Scobie expresed his opinion on the latest royal snub.
The author, who co-wrote the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s book ‘Finding Freedom’, quote-tweeted an article published by the Independent which stated that Sarah has reportedly not been invited.
He wrote: “If true, this feels kinda cruel, no?”.
The decision to not invite Fergie is set to cause a debate among royal watchers.
Sarah discussed her Coronation plans on ITV’s Loose Women earlier this month.
She told the panel: “I personally will be having a little tea room and coronation chicken sandwich and putting out the bunting, that’s what I’m going to be doing.
“Because that would make me very happy.”
She added: “I also love to watch it on telly because you hear a lot on telly, the commentators’ are always good and then everyone, all the family come back.”
