No rest for a royal! Camilla continues public duties as she awaits news on Meghan’s baby
Dressed in a green coat, the wife of Prince Charles greeted staff from the foaling unit during a visit to The National Stud today. The 71-year-old was presented with a bunch of flowers from children at the national horse breeding farm, where she met some of the animals there along with stud manager Tim Lane, who hailed her attendance as an “amazing visit”. Referring to one of the horses, he added: “She’s a proper horse lady, stroking stallions and patting foals to feeding carrots to Time Test.
“She’s really a wonderful horsewoman.”
It was Camilla’s first visit to the National Stud since she was appointed as its patron.
Her visit comes the day a private ambulance and police escort was spotted driving nearby Meghan and Harry’s Frogmore Cottage love nest.
The sight triggered waves of speculation the 37-year-old American had gone into labour.
The ambulance was seen lurking around the front entrance of the Frogmore Cottage grounds moments ago, according to Simon McCoy of the BBC.
Tweeting his excitement, he said: “Private ambulance with police escort seen driving through Windsor. #justsaying.”
Kensington Palace has denied claims Meghan has already had the child.
The Palace told Fabulous Digital Meghan has “categorically not given birth” at this stage.
As Meghan’s due date in April has officially been and gone, mania surrounding the birth of her first child has peaked.
The public has been kept out of the loop by the pregnant American and husband Prince Harry, with the only details having been revealed being that she was due to give birth in April and that she was considering a home birth.
Suspicions she has already had the baby spiked this morning when Kensington Palace announced Prince Harry would be jetting of to Europe in less than seven days time.
The father-to-be will travel to the Netherlands for the Invictus Games on May 8.
Kensington Palace said: “His Royal Highness will then travel to The Hague to officially launch the one year countdown to the Invictus Games The Hague 2020.”
If the royal baby arrives today it will share a birthday with its cousin Princess Charlotte.
