Nigel Farage promises BITTER fight after Brexit delay – ‘Brexiteers won’t roll over’
Nigel Farage vowed to ensure the will of UK voters in support of Brexit is respected after the British Government agreed to an extension of the withdrawal period until October 31. Mr Farage, the leader of the newly-founded Brexit Party, promised to stand as a candidate to represent Brexiteers who have long wanted to quit the European Union. Addressing a large crowd at one of the first rallies held by the party in Birmingham, the British MEP said: “I find myself, having spent 20 years in the European Parliament – 20 years I’ve been there, although I think I’ve enjoyed it more than they have.
“Now I find myself here standing in my sixth European election campaign. I shouldn’t be here, you shouldn’t be here, none of this should be happening.
“We should have left the European Union. But I’m damned if, after 25 years of fighting for this, I’m going to roll over and allow these politicians to do this to us.”
Speaking up amid applause and cheers, Mr Farage added: “So let’s fight back. Let’s fight back. We won’t stand for it.”
Despite the recent launch, with Mr Farage officially presenting the party two days after Theresa May agreed to a new Brexit delay, the Brexit Party has been ranking third of all UK parties for preference among voters.

A YouGov poll of 1,843 people conducted on April 10 to 11 found the Labour Party is a clear leader with 24 percent of the public’s backing, with the Conservative trailing at 16 percent and the Brexit Party at 15 percent.
Mr Farage is believed to be preparing to unveil the party’s candidate line up in the coming days after revealing the sister of eurosceptic MP Jacob Rees-Mogg, Annunziata, had joined the ranks of the new party after years as a Conservative Party member.
John Longworth, former leader of the British Chamber of Commerce and longtime supporter of Brexit, is also expected to be named as MEP hopeful for the party.
In a column for the Daily Telegraph, the former head of the British Chambers of Commerce said MPs have “done everything possible to frustrate, delay and undermine Brexit”.
He claimed both the Tories and Labour “lied, obfuscated and dissembled” in failing to fulfil the result of the 2016 EU referendum.
Mr Longworth said: “It is time for a revolution in politics, a revolution which has historical precedent and is as much a part of the culture of Britain’s body politic as Parliament itself.
“Career politicians, policy wonks who make a career of becoming politicians, without ever having done anything else in life, make for feeble representatives.
“You could fire a thousand party poppers in the House of Commons and not hit anyone who has done business.
“You could pop a thousand champagne corks in the European Parliament (which they do regularly) and get the same result.”
It comes amid claims up to 40 Conservative MEP candidates are planning to defect to the Brexit Party over fears of a “disaster” in the EU elections for Mrs May.
