Nigel Farage hopes Brexit Party success will ‘scare the living daylights’ out of Tories
The pro-Brexit party founded earlier this year won 29 seats with 30.5 percent of the vote in May, thrashing all other parties. The Liberal Democrats came in second with 16 seats and 19.6 percent of the vote, followed by the Labour Party, the Green Party and the Conservatives in fifth place. Speaking to The Parliament Magazine in June, Mr Farage said he hopes the poll would “scare the living daylights” out of the mainstream parties after both Labour and the Conservatives suffered huge losses.
He also claimed these results give the Brexit Party a “legitimate” right to be included in any further discussions with the EU.
In the upcoming General Election, Mr Farage has agreed to stand down his candidates in 317 seats the Conservatives won in 2017, but is refusing to budge on Labour-held constituencies.
Despite standing down in support of the Tories in nearly half the seats in the country, Mr Farage has also insisted that Boris Johnson’s Brexit deal is not a real Brexit, branding it a “sellout”.
Deriding Mr Johnson’s election slogan, Mr Farage said two weeks ago: “It does not get Brexit done.

“All it does is take us into another three years of agonising negotiations with Michel Barnier in charge.”
Mr Barnier, the EU’s chief Brexit negotiator, said earlier this month that Brexit may need to be delayed yet again, as there may not be enough time to complete free trade negotiations with Brussels before the end of the planned transition period at the end of 2020.
His words are a blow to Mr Johnson’s election campaign that a vote for him would “get Brexit done”.
In his interview with The Parliament Magazine earlier this year, Mr Farage issued an eerie warning.
He predicted that “changes are pretty low” the the UK would leave the EU by the October 31 deadline agreed by Theresa May after the first extension to Article 50.
The fervent Brexiteer was correct in this, as the UK has still not left the EU today, despite the Prime Minister insisting that he would “rather die in a ditch” than ask for another delay.
Parliament overruled Mr Johnson’s wishes last month and forced him to request an extension to Article 50 from the EU, which was granted until January 31, 2020.
Mr Farage was commenting on the candidates in the Tory leadership election, in which Mr Johnson beat Jeremy Hunt, Sajid Javid, Michael Gove and Rory Stewart.

One major thing Nigel Farage did to guarantee Brexit [REVEALED]
The Brexit Party leader said: “I do not see this happening under any of the Tory leadership contenders.
“I do not think any of them will do it by October 31.”
However, the Brexit Party are not without stumbling blocks themselves – it has emerged today the party is under investigation for “failing to hand over personal data”.
According to Sky News, the Information Commissioner’s Office launched an investigation in response to complaints the Brexit Party had failed to answer requests for data.
Under data protection law, anyone can ask an organisation for a copy of their personal information, a process known as a Subject Access Request.
Unless the request is especially complicated, they should receive a response within a month.
A Brexit Party spokesperson told Sky News the majority of Subject Access Requests dated back to the European elections.
They said: “During the European elections, there was a coordinated attempt by campaigners to flood the Brexit Party with Subject Access Requests.
“All political parties are allowed access to the electoral register so they can send literature to voters.
“However inaccurate claims circulated on social media, claiming we had acquired people’s addresses improperly, leading to the written requests.”
