Nick Ferrari stuns Labour leadership hopeful with savage dig at contest to replace Corbyn
The LBC radio host quizzed Labour Party MP Dawn Butler on the leadership timetable during BBC’s Politics Live programme. Ms Butler is one of the candidates in the race to become the deputy leader of the Labour Party. The Member of Parliament for Brent Central agreed with Mr Ferrari that the decision on Labour’s next leader and deputy leader has taken “too long”.
Mr Ferrari said: “I have a question, why is it taking so long?
“This is like the liberation of Europe in the 1940s.
“It is taking forever!
“The listeners to my show were mildly engaged at the start but I don’t even know if they know it is going on.
“Does it have to take this long?”
Ms Butler replied: “Well when I am in charge as Deputy leader I will change the rules and I will ensure that it doesn’t take this long.
“I think it has taken a long time, I think it is too long.
“As somebody who is travelling around the country, I do think it is longer than it needs to be.
“I will ensure that as Deputy Leader we will change that.”
Last week during a furious Labour Party campaigner slammed the party’s 2019 manifesto pledge of free broadband during the leadership debate on Sky News.
The Labour voter told Sky News’ Sophy Ridge that during the 2019 general election he would knock on doors in a bid to get undecided voters to back his party.
However, he recalled being told “you are offering me free broadband but I can’t afford to put food on the table for my kids” during his time campaigning.

The Labour campaigner also blasted the anti-Semitic issues within the party as an “absolute disgrace”.
He said: “One of the things that was said to me during the general election was you are offering me free broadband but I can’t afford to put food on the table for my kids.
“I think that says it all really.
“In terms of anti-Semitism, this is more for Keir and Rebecca, how on earth did you stand by the leadership when you know so many jewish people were made to feel like they couldn’t vote for the Labour party?
“It was an absolute disgrace!”
