NHS nurse with no underlying health conditions dies after testing positive for coronavirus

Mother-of-three Areema Nasreen, 36, died more than two weeks after first being diagnosed with coronavirus. She died at Walsall Manor Hospital confirmed. Ms Nasreen had worked for the NHS for more than 16 years.

A grieving relative paid tribute to the “devoted nurse”.

They told Birmingham Live: “The immediate family are devastated. Everyone is in shock this morning.

“She was always so full of life. She was devoted to her job as a nurse, she absolutely loved it. She passed away doing what she loved.

“I’m really sad for the rest of the family, she was a fantastic person.”

Piers Morgan paid tribute to Ms Nasreen, tweeting: “RIP Areema Nasreen, 36. An NHS nurse for 16yrs, loving wife & mother of 3 young children.

“Killed by #Coronavirus that she contracted at Walsall Manor Hospital as she fought to save others’ lives.

“An absolute heroine.”
