Clinical malpractice at Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital Trust (SATH) was allowed to continue for a shocking four decades, resulting in repeated failings by doctors, midwives and hospital bosses. A leaked report obtained by The Independent revealed at least 42 babies and three mothers died while obtaining care at the trust between 1979 and 2017. The same disturbing document also revealed more than 50 children also suffered permanent brain damage when they were deprived of oxygen.
