Next week the EU will start to DESTROY ITSELF from within as insurgent MEPs are elected
Britain’s 71 MEP’s make up almost one-tenth of the European Parliament – and with a huge number of those seats expected to be won by Nigel Farage’s Brexit Party the EU will effectively have a rebel insurgent group at its heart, according to Express.co.uk Head of News Paul Baldwin. Britain goes to the polls on Thursday taking part in a European election Brexit was expected to have prevented.
The British MEPs will make it their job to stymie anything going through the European Parliament
Paul Baldwin
Mr Baldwin told the Express.co.uk podcast Brexit The Final Countdown: “At the back end of next week there will be 71 brand new British MEPs in an election nobody wants and we never expected to be in.
“Those 71 MEP’s will almost certainly make it their job to stymie anything going through the European Parliament and to cause as much trouble as possible.
“This will be a whole new ballgame for the EU and it is hard to see exactly how it will play out but it will not make the EU feel warm towards Britain.
“Why would anyone in the EU help the nation which is desperate to get out?”

He added the anti-EU faction of British MEPs could be joined by similar populist politicians from Italy, France, and the eastern European states – all committed to reining in the power of Brussels and returning it to nation states.
Earlier Mr Baldwin mocked Theresa May’s move to bring the withdrawal Bill before Parliament in the hope of somehow swinging some form of Parliamentary backing.
He said: “The Catholics used to have a method of contraception called the Rhythm Method which was essentially a withdrawal agreement – and that didn’t work either!
“And it didn’t work because, bottom line, neither party was really committed to it. And it’s exactly the same with Mrs May’s withdrawal agreement.”
